Subclass 884/864 Contributory Aged Parent Visa

If you are a parent of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen, and you are at least 67 years of age, you may be eligible to apply for a Contributory Aged Parent visa.

The Contributory Aged Parent has two subclasses, the subclass 884 and subclass 864. The subclass 884 is a temporary visa allowing you to live in Australia for up to 2 years, whilst the subclass 864 is a permanent visa.

部門費用

There is no fee to sponsor an applicant.  However, sponsors must ensure their financial responsibilities to support the applicant in their first 2 years in Australia.

As of 1 July 2023, subclass 884 (temporary) visa costs $33,895 which is divided into two installments:

• $4,765 must be paid at the time of lodgement, and 
• $29,130 is payable before the visa grant. 

The Department fee of subclass 864 (permanent) visa is currently $48,365, also divided into two installments:

• $4,765 must be paid at the time of lodgement, and
• $43,600 is payable before the visa grant.

However, the second installment is only requested when the Department intends to grant you the visa. They won’t ask for the second installment if you cannot meet the visa eligibility requirements.
