Sophia Smith

Sophia is a dedicated law student currently in the first year of the Juris Doctor program at the University of Melbourne. Holding a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Politics, International Studies and Criminology, Sophia has always been deeply engaged with global issues and social justice. Her academic interests are particularly focused on migration law, with a special emphasis on humanitarian protection and refugee law. Sophia is also fascinated by how migration law intersects with international relations and broader legal frameworks, shaping global responses to displacement and human rights.

Outside of her studies, Sophia is an avid reader, with a particular fondness for Asian literature. She enjoys exploring diverse narratives and perspectives, which helps them stay grounded and inspired in both their academic and personal pursuits. With a strong commitment to creating positive change, Sophia hopes to contribute meaningfully to the field of migration law in the future.
