Perry Q Wood is Immediate Past President of the Australian Institute of Administrative Law and one of Australia’s leading administrative and migration lawyers.
Consistently ranked by Doyle’s, he is recognised as one of Australia's best migration lawyers. He practises in all aspects of Australian migration law, acting for both corporate and individual clients, including in crimmigration and deportation matters.
Mr Wood is a former Senior Member / Practice Leader of Australia's administrative review tribunal (AAT) and previously served as an Asia-Pacific council member of the International Association of Refugee and Migration Judges.
To date, he has been involved in 2,500+ migration and refugee matters.
Earlier, he trained as a solicitor at Clayton Utz and served as the Chief Judge’s Associate at the County Court (to His Honour Chief Judge Rozenes AO QC) before practising as a Principal in both public and private practice.
He leads the firm’s pro-bono practice and has experience representing asylum seekers from various backgrounds.
Away from the law, Mr Wood is responsible for a multi-million dollar investment portfolio as Chair of the Investment Committee of the Australian Institute of International Affairs, first established as a branch of London's Royal Institute of International Affairs ("Chatham House") in Victoria in 1924.
He is also an operational firefighter. In 2024, under 'catastrophic' fire conditions, he served on the fire-ground as liaison between a New South Wales Rural Fire Service strike-team led by former Commissioner Greg Mullins AO and Victoria's Country Fire Authority.
Tell us a little about your situation, and one of our migration lawyers will get back to you as soon as possible.
